About the apple
The apple has a crisp bite and a very light balanced texture and taste. Because of this texture, it’s enjoyed and appreciated by most consumers. The flesh is white and does not oxidise. This feature makes it ideal in fruit salades. The unique colour and clean skin makes it stand out next to its competitors.
The Tree
ZOUK16 C.O.V. is a vigorous tree with a steeper branch implant. It is a very productive variety that is not very sensitive to night frost. Sufficient thinning is necessary. This variety is not well suited for very hot climates, only if the plots are at an adequate height. Minimum height in hot climates is about 600m above sea level. ZOUK16 needs a sufficient temperature difference between day and night for optimal coloration. The apple is easy to store in ULO or with 1-MCP. The harvest time is approximately around the Golden Delicious period.
